About Me
Hello! My name is Amanda. I earned my MS in chemistry from Vanderbilt University in 2003 and my BS in chemistry with a minor in dance from Western Oregon University in 2001. I interned and worked in the analytical lab of Teledyne-Wah Chang during my undergraduate studies. I taught chemistry for about 10 years before leaving my tenured position at Foothill College to start a family. I have taught chemistry at the high school and college levels, and I have taught science at the elementary and middle school levels as a volunteer. For most of my teaching career I taught and coordinated for the Introductory General, Organic and Biological Chemistry sequence for students entering the allied health field. I decided to start this website so that I can continue helping students who are new to chemistry. I am from Oregon, but I currently live in Florida with my husband, two daughters, and one dog.
